WHAT DO WE DO IN AFRICA ?

.....What is the basis of our activities ?

.....What have we been doing in Africa since1869 ?

Claiming for ourselves this saying of our Founder,
we have been at the origin of many initiatives
from the beginning of our Congregation:
(schools, dispensaries, workshops, libraries, language centres, media …),
which we can later pass on to our successors.

We have assisted in the foundation and training
of twenty-six African Congregations of Sisters.
This accompaniment describes our way of being a Missionary Sister:
'He must grow greater, I must grow smaller.' (Jn 3:30)

.....What are our priorities nowadays ?

Even today, we continue to adapt, responding to the new missionary
challenges: street children, women in distress…

The Congregation came into being in Algeria and pays particular
attention to followers of Islam.

We work for Islam-Christian dialogue within our various
commitments in Muslim environments.

Woman-to-woman in Africa,
we are in solidarity with their joys and sorrows;
we take their side in issues of justice and peace
and we work for their human and spiritual development.

We do not have any specific activities:
Our presence among the peoples of Africa strives to be
a response adapted to their needs and the signs of the Spirit.
