Carmen Sammut was born in Malta in 1951.
She did her religious formation in England, Canada and Rome; her first profession 1979 in London and Final Profession in 1985 in Frascati, Rome.
Carmen is a teacher by profession. As MSOLA she did studies at PISAI, the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies in Rome.
Along the years, she also followed many ongoing formation sessions in the congregation.

For 30 years her host countries were the countries of North Africa, Mauritania, Algeria and Tunisia; Carmen has been to Malawi for stage and to other parts of Africa for meetings.
Carmen has been in a leadership position in the then Province of Maghreb 2000-2006 and has
participated in several General Chapters.
She has accompanied many young sisters in the communities and animated several groups of sisters either in Tertianship or to prepare for final profession in the Juniorate.

Carmen est enseignante de profession. Comme SMNDA elle a étudié au PISAI (Institut Pontifical d'Études Arabes et d'Islamologie) à Rome.
Elle a aussi suivi de nombreuses sessions de formation dans la congrégation.
Durant ces trente dernières années, des pays d'Afrique du Nord l'ont accueillie tour à tour: Mauritanie, Algérie et Tunisie. De plus, Carmen a séjourné au Malawi pour son stage apostolique et a été appelée à participer à des réunions dans d'autres pays d'Afrique.
De 2000 à 2006, elle a été provinciale de la province du Maghreb. Elle a aussi pris part à plusieurs Chapitres généraux.
Elle a été accompagnatrice de jeunes soeurs dans les communautés et a animé plusieurs groupes de formation, pour le Troisième An et le Juniorat, dernière étape de préparation à l'engagement définitif.

Poreku Margaret Maamalifar was born in Ghana in 1962.
She did her religious formation in Nairobi, Kenya, Mufulira, Zambia and in Arusha, Tanzania. Her first profession was in 1995 in Arusha and the final profession in 2003 in Piina, Ghana.
Maamalifar did some studies in Development in Birmingham, U.K. and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in Kenya. She also followed the three-year 'Rulla Formation Training Program for Africa' in Nairobi and an International Leadership Development Program in Uganda.
She took part in various sessions offered by the congregation and has leadership experience in the East African Region.
Maamalifar has already taken part in the Chapter of 2005, and has been elected General Assistant during the present Chapter.

Margaret Maamalifar Poreku est née au Ghana en 1962.
Elle a reçu sa formation religieuse successivement à Nairobi (Kenya), Mufulira (Zambie) et à Arusha, Tanzanie).
Première profession à Arusha, en 1995, et engagement définitif à Piina (Ghana) en 2003.
Maamalifar a fait des études en Développement à Birmingham, U.K., et a obtenu un baccalauréat en Sciences de l'Éducation au Kenya.
Elle a aussi suivi durant trois ans le 'Rulla programme' de formation des formateurs pour l'Afrique (Rulla Formation Training Program for Africa) à Nairobi et récemment, un programme sur le Développement de Leadership International (International Leadership Development Program) en Ouganda.
Elle a participé à différentes sessions offertes par la congrégation et à une expérience de leadership dans la région de l'Afrique de l'Est.
Elle a participé au Chapitre général de 2005, et a été élue assistante générale durant ce chapitre 2011.

Ocón Moreno María del Carmen was born in 1970 in Spain.
She did her religious formation in Kenya and Tanzania, with two years of apostolic experience in Zambia. She made her first profession in Arusha, Tanzania in 1996 and her final profession in 2003 in Spain.
María del Carmen is a interior designer by profession. In the congregation she trained as social worker and has worked in this field in Spain, Mozambique and Tanzania. She also has a specialization in Biblical Spirituality and Pastoral Theology.
She has experience in Mission and Vocation Animation and has accompanied young sisters at different stages of formation.
This is the first General Chapter in which María Carmen participates and from where she was elected General Assistant.

María del Carmen Ocón Moreno est née en Espagne en 1970.
Elle a reçu sa formation religieuse au Kenya et en Tanzanie, et deux ans d'expérience apostolique en Zambie.
Première profession à Arusha (Tanzanie) en 1996 et engagement définitif en Espagne en 2003.
Mª Carmen est architecte d'intérieur par profession. Dans la congrégation, elle a fait des études en travail social et s'est investie dans ce domaine en Espagne, au Mozambique et en Tanzanie. Elle est aussi spécialisée en spiritualité biblique et théologie pastorale.
Elle a acquis de l'expérience en Animation Missionnaire et Vocationnelle et a accompagné de jeunes sœurs dans les différents stages de formation.
Mª Carmen qui participe pour la première fois à un Chapitre général a été élue Assistante Générale.

Marie-Alice Terrettaz was born in 196 3 in Switzerland. When she entered the Congregation in 1987, Marie-Alice was equipped with a dual training in business and secretarial work and in nursing. She had had a year's nursing experience after gaining her nursing diploma. Her religious formation began in Toulouse, France, then in Butare in Rwanda. In between, she had the two-year apostolic experience in a clinic and maternity unit in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
After her first vows in September 1991 in Butare, Marie-Alice was sent to Burundi to a new community concentrating on social welfare and preventive medicine. After that, she returned to France for a year of doctrinal studies in Paris, followed by another year of "training for religious formators".
She was in charge of the initial formation, first in Bukavu and then in the postulate in Goma, both in DR Congo. It was from there that she came to the 2005 Chapter - having also attended the 1999 one - which elected her an Assistant General.
During her first mandate, Marie-Alice, together with the other members of the General Council, followed a leadership training, which she has been able to implement already. It will also be a precious tool for her second mandate.

Marie-Alice Terrettaz, née en 1963 en Suisse. Lorsqu'elle entre dans la Congrégation en janvier 1987, elle est munie d'une double formation : secrétariat et commerce, diplôme d'infirmière mis en pratique pendant une année. Sa formation première commence à Toulouse (France) puis à Butare (Rwanda). Entre les deux, il y a eu le stage apostolique de deux années accompli en R.D. Congo, dans un dispensaire/maternité.
Après ses premiers vœux en septembre 1991 à Butare, Marie-Alice est envoyée au Burundi, dans une nouvelle communauté à orientation sociale et médicale (médecine préventive). Après quoi, elle revient en Europe, à Paris, pour une année d'études doctrinales suivie d'une autre année de " formation de formateurs religieux ". Voilà qui lui permet d'assurer une responsabilité dans la formation première, à Bukavu d'abord puis au postulat de Goma.
Au Chapitre de 2005, elle est élue assistante générale. Pendant ce premier mandat, Marie-Alice, ensemble avec les autres membres du Conseil général a suivi une formation de " leadership " qu'elle a pu déjà mettre en pratique. Cette formation sera un atout précieux aussi dans son deuxième mandat .
