L'année financière 2008-2009 s'est teminée le 30 juin dernier et nous désirons vous remercier très sincèrement pour les pensées et les prières que vous avez eu pour les Laïcs Missionnaires de Notre-Dame d'Afrique. Nous tenons à souligner que cet aspect de votre soutien est très important pour la bonne marche des missions qui nous sont confiées. Votre généreuse participation financière a permis à la Fondation d'appuyer des projets très importants dont, en Tanzanie sur l'île d'Ukerewe, l'aide aux enfants handicapés et à leurs familles ainsi que la construction de puits et en Tanzanie également, à Mwanza, l'aide aux familles éprouvées par le sida.En tant que membre 2008-2009 de la Fondation Lavigerie, vous êtes cordialement invité(e,s) à participer à l'Assemblée annuelle dont vous trouverez ci-joint l'ordre du jour et le compte-rendu de la dernière assemblée. Nous incluons également un dépliant de la Fondation pour vous aider à nous faire connaître autour de vous.

Annual Assembly of the Fondation Lavigerie
September 6, 2008
6343 de St Vallier St., Montréal, Québec1.Prayer and welcome. In attendance: Francine Allaire, Jean Jacques Allaire, Lise Daviau, Madeleine
Lacoursière and Raymonde Lapointe. Lucille Cadieux, Josiane Charbonneau, Viviane Lafrenière, Claudette Roberge and Danielle Vermette were in attendance as members of the Fondation. The meeting started at 13 :35 with a prayer. Francine welcomes all.2.Reading and approval of the September 8, 2007 meeting. The report is approved in its actual form by Raymonde, supported by Danielle.
3.Reading and approval of the agenda. The agenda is approved as is by Viviane, supported by Raymonde.
4.Report of the President. During our official year, from July 1st, 2007 to June 30, 2008, we moved forward slowly but surely and we can be proud of what we did. The Fondation participated to several activities such as the September 8, 2007 fund raising supper organized by Louisanne and Robert Ouellette who are now working at Shaloom Care Center in Mwanza, Tanzania; the visit of the General Counsel of MSOLA with the Africa, Europe and North America Provincials on September 21, 2007. This meeting was an opportunity for all to get to know one another better and to mutually recognize these two entities which stem from the same source : the charisma of Cardinal Lavigerie. The Fondation also supported the mission of Louise and Gaston Cantin who, after their first year of participating to the PIFM, left on June 5, 2008 to spend three months in Mwanza as volunteer workers; the fund raising supper of Josiane Charbonneau, on June 7, 2008. Josiane is leaving on November 3 for two years of missionary work at Shaloom Youth Centre. Presently, the Fondation Lavigerie has close to 200 membres and Madeleine emphasizes that the Fondation has also grown in terms of wisdom, spirit and visibility… kudos to all!
5.Report of the Treasurer. a. 2007-2008 report : as of June 30, 2008, the Fondation has assets totalling 70 353,11 $, divised as follows, 13 890,22 $ in the savings account with operations and 56 462,89 $ in the redeemable savings account. In the Fondation column : 15 323,47 $; in the Handicapés column : 10 461,08 $; in the Shaloom column : 4 434,69 $; in the Puits column : 36 968,65 $; and in the Passion-Afrique column : 3 165,22 $. This report if proposed by Jean Jacques, supported by Madeleine. Accepted. b. forecasts. We hope the fund raising campaigns will be more fruitful but the main objective remains to help support LMOLA financially as well as the missions they work on. We hope to see their involvement grow as well.
6.Candidates and elections (two year term). The President asks if the actual members of the board wish to renew their mandate and remain in their position. All the members accept to renew their term. The President asks if members in attendance wish to present another candidate or themselves to be part of the Board of Directors. No reply. The President asks if all attending members are in agreement and this general consensus is supported by Josiane. All terms are renewed. With thanks to all members from the President.
