Since its foundation (in Algiers in 1869), the Congregation has been destined to Africa : each of us, of some continent that it is, leaves its country and go serve in particular in the name of the Christ her brothers and sisters of Africa, committing against poverty, the situations of distress, the difficulties of formation school, professional, with and for the women, with them for a more human world.

What is important for us, it is to learn the language of the country, to study the culture, to be immersed into the heart of the villages and districts. We work with people, their parishes, their associations, in the respect of the cultures, of the religions, the Traditional and Islam, trying to make live living and committed Christian Communities.

Since their origin,
The TWO INSTITUTES of LAVIGERIE
have made the survey of arabic,
THEN OF THE OTHER AFRICAN LANGUAGES,
of the knowledge of the Moslem faith, a priority.

To like and to make themselves welcome in every culture, are family's feature. An inheritance that stimulates us to collaborate where that we are, to the friendship and the help between believers of all origins.
